As a business, we have only been around for just over a year. Based in two locations, Epsom and Kingston, we want to be the place to go to in Surrey for all wellbeing and mental health needs. When we heard about the Epsom and Ewell Business Awards, we knew it could be a good thing to showcase what we do to the wider community where one of our premises is based. Therapy is for everyone, and if people don’t know about us, then how can they reach out to us for help?
We were lucky to have been nominated in a range of different categories, and then we got shortlisted out of 54 nominated local Epsom businesses, meaning we were down to the final three in the Health & Beauty award category. There were more than 3,500 nominations in total, which was the most that the awards has ever received.
The Epsom and Ewell businesses that we were ‘up against,’ were TensCare Ltd. (a business making machines for drug free chronic and labour pain relief, physiotherapy, beauty and so on), and Ascension Training (gym and personal training centre). They are both fantastic businesses that closely align with the ethos of The Wellbeing Therapy Hut, with such a focus on health and wellbeing for all, so it was an honour to be in the same category as them both.
The awards themselves were held at The Horton in Epsom, which was a great venue. A small number of the team were able to make it in the night, including our founder, Jess. To see some recognition for the important work that TWTH does was the cherry on top of the first full year in business. Starting a business on the back of the pandemic hasn’t been easy, but we know that what we do is so important for the local community.

Sadly, we didn’t win on the night, the award in the Health & Beauty category went to Tens Care, but it was great to highlight and showcase what we do to a wider audience. Being focused in Epsom and Ewell, hopefully it has helped to get the word out to others.
